Who we are
Virtus Governance Coaching is led by Erik Haralson. Erik has served on the Board of Directors of St. Stephen’s Academy in Beaverton, Oregon, for over 20 years and has filled the role of Chairman of the Board since 2011. St. Stephen’s Academy is a classical Christian school that is a ministry of Evergreen Presbyterian Church. He had a 26-year career in the semiconductor industry and retired from Intel Corporation in 2024.
Erik currently serves as an accreditor through the Society of Classical Learning, a Board Leadership coach for the Herzog Foundation, and founded Virtus Governance Consulting. VGC provides training and coaching to K-12 Christian Schools in the area of board governance. He is an expert in Carver Policy Governance © and in navigating church/school relationships.
Erik and his wife, Joanna, have three children, all of whom are being classically educated with his oldest graduating in 2025 and now attending Hillsdale College. Erik holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a PhD. in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
